COVID-19 SAFETY & SUPPORT

The Los Altos office is currently closed until further notice, due to the COVID-19 shelter in place ordinances. In order to make sure the office, therapists and clients are safe and protected from possible virus infection and transmission once we are open again, we have established some new protocols:

1. Hygiene:

  • Please wash your hands when you enter the office for a minimum of 20 seconds in the bathroom before our session begins. If the bathroom is occupied, I have hand sanitizer for you to use in my room.
  • I will be wiping off high touch surfaces with an antibacterial solution both before and after each session, along with surfaces in the communal areas such as the bathroom and doorknobs.
  • I will wear a smock that I can change out between sessions, to avoid possible further contamination. This may be overkill, but I’d prefer to be fastidiously clean for you.

2. Distancing:

  • The waiting area will not be used, and all magazines and water sources have been taken away to avoid the temptation of congregating in a small space with others.
  • Please make sure to bring your own water to the session as I will no longer be able to provide it for you.
  • I will text you when I am ready for you to come into the office for your appointment. You are welcome to text me if you arrive early, but please wait in your car until I give you the ok to come in.
  • I will have a special air filtration system operating in my room to reduce the possibility of the virus and contaminants floating in the air.

3. Screening:

  • I will take your temperature as you come into the office with an infrared no-touch thermometer. If your temperature registers above 99 degrees, I will have to ask you to go home. I will be taking my temperature daily as well.
  • I will go through a checklist every day for myself and with you when you come in for your appointment. If you present the following symptoms at the time of the appointment I will have to ask you to go home: 1. Fever 2. Cough 3. Sore throat 4. Shortness of breath 5. Loss of taste or smell 6. Nasal congestion or a runny nose

4. Masks:

  • Please bring and wear a mask/face wrap when you come into the office and during our session. I will have a towel hammock under the face rest to act as a mask when you are face down. I have already tested this out and it is much easier to breathe with the towel than try to wear a mask while you are face down in the cradle. I am also happy to work on you side-lying if this position proves to be uncomfortable for you, even with the towel barrier.
  • I will be wearing a mask at all times and have a special antibacterial spray that I will use to disinfect my mask between sessions.
  • If you do not have a mask, please let me know and I will provide you one before you enter the office.

5. Offsite appointments:

  • I will be wiping down my portable equipment before and after each client I see. I will be wearing a mask, wearing a fresh set of clothes and take my shoes off at the door.
  • I will have disinfectant wipes to make sure I’ve not left anything undesirable in your home during my visit with you.
  • I am happy to provide you with your own set of sheets/face cover and massage table equipment that you can store at your home as added assurance that the equipment will remain uncontaminated. I will need a deposit for the equipment and sheets if you decide to go this route. Please PM me if you are interested and I will give you a list of package options to choose from.

When there are more reliable COVID antibody tests available (for both exposure and active cases), I plan to take it. The same goes for a vaccine when it safely comes into existence.

Thank you for your understanding and support during this unprecedented time!
